Everything in our world has a story, though it’s often difficult to see beyond our own. As an artist, I strive to shift perspectives and immerse viewers in someone else’s world. I love thinking about people and the way their mind works. Through my art, I aim to amplify voices—whether they’re contemplating life’s possibilities or simply declaring their presence. If I am to spend the rest of my life working, I will carve a name for myself as a critic of and for the people. People form the foundation of my artwork. My drawings feature characters placed in a universe of my making. I am deeply influenced by the speculative nature of animation, with its limitless ability to bend reality. In the face of uncertainty about the universe we inhabit, I craft and share my worlds in an attempt to help us envision something different. These worlds give purpose to my work and depth to the subjects within. When I create, I consider a character’s mind and the complex path they took to arrive at their present.

The same applies to the fashion I design. I treat each piece as a character, exploring the story it wants to tell. Clothes are integral to how we present ourselves. Before stepping outside, we make a choice that reflects our identity, heritage, or aspirations. Clothing becomes a tangible manifestation of a person’s story. As such, I treat clothes as a reflection of our existence. My designs allow audiences to experience that story at a glance. When you look at the fashion I create, you can visualize the person who would be bold enough to wear it. Their story is quite literally worn on their sleeve. The videos I create bring these narratives to life, offering scenes from the alternate universes I imagine. Stories allow us to connect without directly experiencing each other’s lives. They extend our empathy, enabling us to feel deeply for those we might never meet. My videos act as scenes from those stories, asking the audience to not only watch but to undergo the journey alongside the character, asking them not just to watch but to understand. By stepping into another’s shoes, we broaden our view of the world and enrich our sense of connection. Ultimately, my work is about people—their stories, their complexities, and their potential. Through drawing, fashion, and video, I seek to build bridges between perspectives and invite audiences to see beyond their own.
